The starting point of the performance is the figure of the Soviet man, homo sovieticus, built on fear, which left its mark on the societies of the so-called “Eastern Bloc.” In the performance, three performers and dancers explore what remains of “homo sovieticus” today, what inheriting the trauma of fear means, and how it is stored in the archive of the body. The artists deconstruct the facade of the perfect human that homo sovieticus was supposed to be, queering it and processing it through the non-normativity of the body.
